Letter From Our Patron

Homelessness harms lives. People who are homeless for an extended period suffer mental and physical ill-health are far less likely to be able to hold a job, often lose contact with family and friends and are more vulnerable to substance abuse. It’s a vicious circle.

Trinity Winchester has been providing much-needed services for over 30 years, including practical help, support and advice to more than 600 vulnerable people every year. Many have complex and interrelated problems, resulting in failed tenancies and difficulty maintaining a home.

Our solution is to give a safe, secure home with ‘wrap-around’ support services to get their lives on track towards a more positive future. It is based on a model called ‘Housing First’, which has a proven record in Finland, the USA and other countries, where many lives have been turned around and positive outcomes have been achieved.

To do so, Trinity Winchester is embarking on an ambitious project to extend its on-site facilities to include eleven secure, but self-contained, housing units. Planning permission has been granted and fund raising now begins in order to complete the project. Your contribution will help Trinity succeed.

I am extremely proud to be Trinity’s Patron and fully support this appeal.
