Outreach

In partnership with Winchester City Council, we have formed a team of Complex Needs Navigators to work with individuals who are either at risk of or currently rough sleeping. They may have a variety of presenting needs such as mental health issues, physical health concerns, or addiction. They may have experienced domestic violence or be in and out of the criminal justice system.

People can be seen wherever they are, whether they prefer coming to the Trinity day centre, having home visits, meeting in town or where they are bedded down and rough sleeping. The role is to walk alongside people, supporting them to navigate the often complex systems required to access help.

The Outreach team are also responsible for identifying those who are new to rough sleeping in the area. We adopt a multi agency approach, working alongside The Winchester BID and Community Safety Partnership to respond effectively and quickly.

We know through experience that early intervention is the key to quick and long-term solutions for many of these individuals. Our team are on hand to respond to new rough sleepers and calls from the public who may be concerned about an individual.

You can help someone sleeping rough get the support they need or even seek help for yourself from local services by making an alert through StreetLink.
