Homelessness charity issues invitations to
‘Dine with Sir Ian Botham’

Trinity Winchester is hosting a dinner with cricket legend Sir Ian Botham on Tuesday 17th May at Hilton at the Ageas Bowl, West End, Southampton, to raise vital funds for the charity as it celebrates its 30th anniversary.

Sir Ian Botham is one of the biggest names in world cricket and the best all-rounder that England has ever produced, taking 383 test wickets and scoring 5,200 runs in just 102 tests. He is probably best remembered for his heroics against Australia in the Ashes 1981, a series that became known as ‘Botham’s Ashes’.

The evening will begin with a drinks reception and live band. A three course dinner will then be served, followed by a talk from Sir Ian Botham and a charity auction.

During the last 30 years Trinity Winchester has provided advice and support to over 10,000 people facing homelessness or other vulnerability. Trinity clients are struggling with issues such as addiction, physical and mental ill health, poverty, social isolation and domestic abuse.

Jenny Barstow, Trinity’s Events & Community Fundraiser, said: “Sir Ian is a fantastically entertaining speaker whose brash style and charisma entertains audiences as his playing entertained crowds. Tickets are sure to sell fast, so book yours now by going to www.trinitywinchester.org.uk/upcomingevents, calling 01962 842827 or emailing fundraising@trinitywinchester.org.uk

Jenny added: “Our vital services both change and save lives. Every pound that we raise will make a huge difference to those in our local community, so we hope many people will join us.”
