On 28th May, Lynne Shepherd, who has previously volunteered for Trinity, raised a total of £1055 for the charity by completing the ultimate challenge of a tandem skydive with GoSkydive, the UK’s premier tandem skydive specialist.

Lynne said “I’d been looking for an interesting way to celebrate my birthday, and this seemed the perfect activity! I have a fear of heights but really enjoy flying, so was a bit nervous before the dive, but mostly just excited. I’m so pleased I completed the skydive; I learned something about myself, took on a challenge, and raised a great amount of money for a charity very close to my heart. Thanks to everybody who sponsored me, and GoSkydive for their support on the day.”

Lynne bravely jumped from an altitude of 10,000 feet, reaching speeds of up to 125mph in freefall for approximately 30 seconds, facing her fears and taking on a huge challenge for a worthy cause. All of the money raised will all be put towards a new disabled shower room for Trinity’s drop in day centre.

Gordon Blamire, founder and Managing Director for GoSkydive, added: “GoSkydive is the only centre that specialises in tandem skydives for ‘first-timers’, which makes us a popular choice for charity fundraisers. We always aim to give our customers the best possible experience, especially when they are doing it for such a good cause, and we’re delighted to have helped Lynne to raise so much for Trinity Winchester and have loads of fun in the process!”

Trinity is hosting another Skydive day on Thursday 20th July, with just 2 spaces left for interested participants. For more information, and to book, please call Lucy on 01962 828636 or visit goskydive.com/trinity-winchester
