BoomTown Fair Overview Chapter 7
BoomTown Fair is a music festival unlike any other. Held annually at the Matterley Estate nr. Winchester, the fair welcomes with open arms each year thousands of musicians, walkabout performers, creative minds and skilled craftsmen flocking to the illustrious Fair from all over the globe! On top of all the traditional entertainment and crafts you’d expect at a music festival, BoomTown likes to do things a bit differently within the ever unfolding adventures of the BoomTown Chronicles and the fantasy filled chapters within it. It is this underpinning storyline that gives the UKs most immersive festival the scope to mix cowboys with pirates and flapper dancers with Aztec temples across the 20 themed main stages and the countless smaller shop fronts and hidden beach and forest parties. This sprawling metropolis provides a temporary haven of hidden surprises, pulsating music and immersive audio-visuals to allow each of its tens of thousands of citizens to go on an ultimate voyage of discovery within the labyrinth-esque streets.
With a soundtrack of ska, folk, gypsy, reggae, world, punk, pirate, disco, electro-swing, jazz, blue-grass, breaks, bass, jungle, techno and a whole lot more there is a lot to take in with in the walls of this ultimate circus city!
BoomTown’s rapid growth since inception in 2009 has seen it become one of the top 10 largest festivals in the UK and the only independent one of its size!
