1 – Donate your unwanted pressies
That naff Secret Santa gift from the girl in accounts who doesn’t know you but happened to pull your name out of the hat… we can use that. Your auntie’s gift that you would have liked six years ago, but she hasn’t realised you’ve grown out of – we can use that too. Allergic to nuts but given a box of Ferrerro Rocher? We can definitely use those!
If there is anything that you would usually bin, try to pass off to someone else or leave in the back of the cupboard – please think of Trinity. We can make use of it. Unwanted presents can be wrapped and redistributed to our service users who may not receive any other gifts this year, we can use that ‘Frozen’ stationery set up in the office. And you never know, that fancy box of chocolates that you don’t like can be auctioned at a fundraising event to raise a lot more money.

With thanks to Winchester Cathedral and our trusty team of volunteers – this year we raised over £400 from our chalet at Winchester Christmas Market! To put in real terms, this can pay for 3 weeks food shopping for our Drop-in Service.

Each day until 25 December, you’ll be able to find new video content relating to Christmas at Trinity, what goes on behind the scenes and how you might be able to help us over the festive season and beyond into 2015.

We are regularly given days to stand in the City’s leading supermarkets to appeal for small donations – which add up to large sums of money. In 2014, we have had volunteers out in April, May, August and December, and from these a total of £2171.58 has been raised – and there is still one to go!
If you would be interested in volunteering in this way, please get in touch with Kate on women@trinitywinchester.org.uk or 01962 828632.
